OUR MISSION
Hands of Healing is committed to bringing health care to people in need around the globe. Volunteers and health care professionals travel hundreds of miles to provide care to people in impoverished cities and remote villages.
Summary of 2011 Trips
18 volunteers traveled to Guatemala in June, visiting 4 remote villages around Panajachel. The team assisted 264 medical clients, with over 800 medications provided; 100 dental clients pulling 127 teeth; and 353 vision clients who received 136 prescription glasses, 205 readers, and 248 sunglasses. In August, 10 volunteers set up clinic for 4 days in the village of Jacu, Panama and treated 296 medical clients, with over 1000 medications provided; 102 dental clients with 171 teeth pulled; and 261 vision clients who received 75 prescription glasses, 136 readers, and 171 sunglasses.
