Medical/Dental Missions Program

The Hands of Healing Medical/Dental Missions program was launched in 1998 to provide basic health and dental care and treatment to individuals who do not have access to such services. Trips are organized in conjunction with local representatives of the destination country. A resident physician of the country oversees the care team. Since the beginning of the program, over10,000 individuals have received treatment ranging from preventive care to treatment of chronic diseases. Dozens of Hands of Healing teams have served in the field, in Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Your Role As a Missionary

When you are a member of a Medical/Dental Mission Team, you will provide direct care to individuals in the destination country. Each team includes physicians, dentists, veterinarians, translators, and other who provide trip support. Hands of Healing welcomes participants from throughout the country.

Our program includes a mix of short-term trips (usually four days) and longer-term trips (typically seven to nine days, but up to fourteen). All clinic operations are conducted in facilities located within the local communities being served.

You can expect your days to be long, hot, and tiring; but you can also expect them to be among the most rewarding times in your life.
